Very important cars only:
The Schloss Bensberg Classics.
The Schloss Bensberg Classics was founded in 2009. This event series for classic cars is distinguished by its exclusivity and high quality: with the tagline ‘very important cars only’, unusual and extremely rare cars (many of which are one-off examples) are presented against the splendid backdrop of the Grandhotel Schloss Bensberg.
The main elements of the programme include a star-studded Rallye Historique through the wonderful Bergisch region, as well as a FIVA A-rated Concours d’Elégance with some of the rarest and most beautiful classic cars in the world. There is also a high-calibre jury, whose previous members have included Giorgetto Giugiaro, Chris Bangle, Jacky Ickx and Walter de’Silva. This year, Dr Franz-Josef Paefgen chairs the panel.
Although the Concours d’Elégance at the Schloss Bensberg Classics took place only for the second time in September 2010, it has already been accepted into the Louis Vuitton Classic Concours Award circle. This prize is presented annually to one of the ‘Best of Show’ winners from the most famous Concours d’Elégance in the world. This means that our event is part of a group of renowned international competitions, including Pebble Beach, California and Villa d’Este, Italy.
This is an award that comes with a degree of responsibility: the Schloss Bensberg Classics will once again have some excellent participants in 2011 – and will offer all guests the chance to experience the fascination of historic cars at close quarters.
